If you are one of those people who reads every word and is still reading, then you'll hear that I received great feedback on all my award winning scripts but most notably on PHEBE which is the most precious to me. Gwyneth Paltrow read my script and said, "It's very well written, super engaging and it has a lovely depth to it...I have taken the liberty of forwarding it to my husband's production team" to which the producer who I spoke with said (and this is from memory). She said, "I've read your script twice now and had a couple other producers read it and we all agree you have something here and want to keep an eye on you. This is the kind of script that would do well at film festivals, the kind of script that would win awards and someone gets on Oscar." When you hear words like that, you don't forget them. The producer and I agreed that Gwyneth would be amazing in this role as Phebe, but we aren't in the position to make Gwyneth act again. Please send your energy into the universe for Gwyneth to take this role. Every single person I have ever talked to all over the world, male and female, old and young, gay and straight, want to see her act again. I have never met a person who doesn't. So please help me make this happen. I'm sure you want this, too. I'm folding 1000 origami cranes now because Japanese legend says the the person who folds 1000 cranes is granted one wish. This is my one wish I want granted. In my last email from Gwyneth she said she had too much going on to act, "but you never know life's twists and turns!" This was six weeks before her lawsuit began so I imagine that uncertainty played into her decision. But now that it's over, can you, all of you that are still here and still reading, make life "twist and turn" for her? Let's send our biggest and strongest prayers and energy into the universe to help her see how amazing this would be for her and the world. I would appreciate that so much. And I appreciate you reading this to the end. Thanks! You are amazing! Also, when I arrived in Paris on January 6th, 2023, I found the 'feve' in my pastry. And although I was concerned I could've broken a tooth, I came to find that because of this I am now given a crown as queen and granted guaranteed good luck for a year. So let's take advantage of that extra boost and make this happen before January 6, 2024. I'm impressed you are still hanging in here with me. Sending all my best wishes to you. :) Beth
Update: If anyone is concerned that my guaranteed good luck ran out in January 2024, listen to this.
It was a snowy winter day on January 6, 2024 and I was spending the day indoors writing while the snow piled up outside. It was one of those cozy mornings you are happy to spend inside. I made my coffee and decided to work on a project I started the night before.
The night before a bag of huge white corona beans I purchased from a tiny gourmet grocery store just stared back at me and said, "If you are going to buy exotic beans like this you need to actually make something with them." So I took the bag and emptied the beans into a big pot to soak overnight.
In the morning they were swollen and growing. Now I was inspired. I added fresh thyme, garlic, bay leaves, celery and onions and let the whole beautiful thing just simmer while it snowed. The aroma filled my house and I soaked in all the cozy vibes.
But back in my office I was also doing some very unpleasant legal work related to my divorce which always instilled fear in me. Periodically I would go to the kitchen and check on my pot of big white beans that were now swelling to glorious perfection.
At some point around noon I remembered the feve and my year of guaranteed good luck, probably because my divorce was lingering on much longer than I ever anticipated. It was something I held to during that turbulent uncertain time. Then I realized what day it was. "Oh no. Today is the day my luck runs out." I had been dreading that day but somehow let it slip my mind until then. "I don't want to lose my luck, " I thought. "I need that still. I need my feve." And then I thought of the French word feve. Feve means bean and back in the day they would hide a dried bean in the King's cake. "How ironic that I happen to be cooking beans today. Wait. These are corona beans. Corona means crown. Wait. The feve and the crown continue. I just made an entire pot of crown beans today. There are hundreds of them in that pot!" At that point I burst into tears of gratitude for a loving universe that cares about my silly fears and feelings. My luck didn't run out that day. I was given an infinite amount more. Also Phebe has now placed in five screenwriting competitions. Time to make this movie. :)
